Solutions for improving indoor air vary according to the type, source and mode of spread of the pollutant. These solutions can be source control, but they can also be solutions for reducing concentration with ventilation and reducing exposure only. There are many types of air purifiers in use today. The efficiency of air cleaners varies depending on the rate of air they circulate and their air filtering capacity. The use of desktop cleaners in particular has increased in the last ten years. Air cleaners used indoors can help control the levels of airborne allergens, particulate matter, bioaerosols, odor and gaseous pollutants. In this study, the removal effects of particulate matter and formaldehyde in the environment of two different types of photo-plasma device sold in the market, portable air cleaners developed for air purification by generating radicals, and a water filter air cleaner developed in the laboratory environment for improving indoor air quality were investigated in this study. The indoor efficiency of air cleaners has been observed by developing room test models called circle test. Particulate matter and formaldehyde concentration changes in the environment were monitored by taking air samples from the glass reactor at regular intervals under both effective and ineffective air cleaning devices. According to the results, it has been determined that the air cleaning devices examined are effective in reducing the concentrations of particulate matter and formaldehyde in the indoor air, and the level of effectiveness varies according to the air cleaner.
